6500 Dodge with Cummins

I have a customer that wants to buy a medium duty truck to haul a 4 horse 14' living quarter horse trailer... ...



Does anybody know if Dodge ever plans to build a 6500 Dodge?????????

Also, we live in California, can I drive one with just a class "C" drivers license? Do I have to stop at scales?

Why not just buy a Baby Freight-Liner witht he Cummins motor. We see alot of those up here in the Northwest.

Sat in one of those the other day and it was outstanding. Liked them better than the Chevy I sat in. You can actually stand up inside the cab and walk around (hunched over a bit tho).

I do not drive or own one, but I have seen them blow right past scales when towing RV Homes. I would think that if it was a private vechicle for RV or horse trailers, you would be ok. The state DMV should be able to tell you.

Is it for recreation or business? Once you get into that size, if you go over 26k and it is obviously a business then you need a CDL, log and med card. Aside from your states regs, interstate travel and the 26k part, sometimes you need to just think one step over the law.



If you are like most horse owners (or race car owners) and win a purse or ribbon or two, then play it like this. If you should get pulled over and the "man" asks you "so how did you do today" or some innocent question, don't fall for it. Just say you had a fun day, whatever. Do not admit to winning anything, cash or not.



And, if you are just for fun, skip the scales.
