Please Help

My transmission guy and I are stumped...I recently purchased a 2008 3500 with a 68RFE ... it was slipping pretty bad about a week after I bought it and going into limp mode every time it was driven . Took to my trans guy and he found the fluid looked pretty bad with metal flake and further investigation determined that a rebuild was necessary. After rebuild including a TopLine tc there is still a problem...runs and shifts great for about 4-5 miles after initial startup in the am or maybe a little more and then it does the 1st-4th limp in.... constantly throws a P0871 and once a P0934 which I believe is a line pressure issue. He has looked at the connectors twice and replaced the solenoid pack with new twice and well as the line pressure sensor twice with new...any info from you pros would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Did they replace the valve body (not just the solenoid)? P0871 in a 2007-2009 truck is usually due to a worn Solenoid Switch Valve (SSV) bore in the main valve body.

I have a call in to him to ask that very question after reading many more of your replies to others with the same problem. Thank you for your reply and I’ll get back as soon as I find out!

Just FYI, the drive learn is NOT required after a quicklearn (although it can be done if desired). The quicklearn is designed to re-learn all the CVIs and other adaptive values, to provide a reasonable calibration following a repair or overhaul. The drive learn is typically used to fine-tune one of the CVIs (if a customer is experiencing a shift complaint with one particular shift event, such as 3-4 upshift).

Ok and thank you...looks like a probable expensive valve body replacement may happen soon tho. I’d bet he did not replace that when he did the rebuild. I’ve also seen reasonably priced oversized SSV but it requires another set of tools . And apparently it involves making the SSV bore bigger...probably better off just replacing the valve body.
