I have noticed that when I use the +/- lever to set the max gear the 68RFE will shift too, I find that if the 68RFE is in 4th and I press the I +/- lever minus the first time after puting it in gear it will jump to 4th as the max allowed gear. So it seems that what ever the current gear being used that is the gear the minus button will jump too. Have others seen this behavior?

Not exactly a 68rfe comment, but my 6. 7 at 1600 miles told me that I need required service due to a catalytic status of 100% full. So I took it in on monday, the earliest appointment I could get, and the technition figured out that ECU had the wrong version of software. This caused regeneration not to happen as required. Everything is working fine now. However fuel mileage is down.

Normal, that's how mine works... it selects the current gear and then you can go up or down from there. Going down our steep driveway each morning the first thing I do is select 1st and it wont shift out of that until I select a higher gear at the bottom of the hill. A word of caution if you manually down shift into the lower gears at any kind of speed... you will get some abrupt downshifts so hang on.

I am just over 7,000 miles and no Regen problems but I'm not getting as good a fuel mileage either, I'm lucky if I can get 14mpg. I can monitor when and how long the Regen's are now with the Dashhawk but don't know if they are happening too often or not. My truck was released from the factory in mid April and has not had any updates or reflashes. I can tell you one thing this truck does not smoke a bit, you can hardly smell any exhaust even first thing in the mornings.

i only have 600+ miles on mine, and no msg's so far..... how does one know when regen is happening???

is a msg displayed????... i've been driving like an "old lady" so far just to see what the indicated fuel mileage would get to... . so far the overhead indicates 16. 4..... i'm thinking i may need to wring this thing out a bit, just so the "filter"doesn't plug -up prematurely..... it sre does ride and handle nice... . transmission is great!!!..... tom
