GMC conversion Clutch Hydrolic problems

Adaptor plate for gm bellhousing?

Hopefullly this will finally work. In no particular order here is some pics of what I have been spending all my time and money on lately.

a few more

Not done yet but it drives and runs awesome! Need to finish up all the little details and clean everything up.

Very nice I love those trucks, my ex father in law had an older one a 65 chev over a 92 12 valve frame. I would love to start a new project

And a few during the build up

Yes I used a 47RH built by DTT 241HD Tcase and Dana 80 rear dana 60 front. Every thing except the trans and transfercase came from the same donor truck. The donor truck was a manual and had the 241lD. The truck was T-boned and all the damage was the drivers side cab and frame. so I was able to use the dodge intercooler and radiator even the dodge AC Condensor.

Very nice! I like it! I have plans to do pretty much the same thing to a mid '80s Chevy K30 crewcab pickup.

Well I pulled the head and had it decked and grooves cut for haisley orings and put in a 10thousands over head gasket with studs. Don M's Mach 7 injectors that I think are absolutely incredible... Idles and runs just like a stock truck untill you step on it with the comp box turned up and they come alive like nothing I have ever seen. A drag comp. The big turbo is a B2 that I got from Nathan Wright. I really like that turbo also it spools incredibly fast. The small turbo is an HX35 that I made the waste gate as big as I could an cut through the center divider so it waste gates all the cylinders. I also have a plate on the back of the HX 35 that allows the waste gate exhaust gas to dump directly into the hot pipe so it is much less retrictive than a normal internal waste gate. I was originally going to put an HX40 compressor wheel on it, but to be honest I am very happy with the way it runs right now. With the box on Level 1 it will make 55 to 60 pounds of boost and the EGTs stay about 1150. I just tapped the pump wire and I saw about 75 pounds tonight on the freeway and I was accellerating so hard that I had to hit the brakes before I could see any of my other gauges so don't really no what EGTs are like with the box turned up. But it still seemed to clean up the smoke pretty well once the boost came up even with the box on 5. I understand what all the hype about twins is now! After driving an Single HX40 for the last 3 years I had no Idea what I was missing. These twins are awesome. I am running a 47 RH full DTT with some Billet parts. So far about 700 miles on it and it runs awesome I really enjoying driving it. . Thanx for the compliments. Lowell

Thanks for the info. You did say that you're running an auto trans in it. What did you do for an overdrive lockout switch on it?

Right now I am just running a toggle switch for overdrive ( when I want it to shift just hit the toggle) the biggest downside to this is you have to remember to switch it out of overdrive when you slow down. I would like to come up with a better system that would automatically cut out OD below a certain speed. I am also running a toggle for lockup of the converter. I like having the complete control as to when the converter locks and it will quickly remind you if you don't unlock it when you slow down. Only did that once. I was worried about what would happen if you inadvertantly locked when stopped in 1st gear but I learned that it will only lock up in 2nd and higher. Lowell

You should be selling your piping kit you came up with for the twins. A lot of people here would love to build thier own with the existing HX35.

Any chance you have any other pictures of the suspension and how it all turned out for you. I also did a Dodge60 conversion onto my 89 GM and used the link bars and everything... not to happy with it as of yet so I am in the midst of swapping that out for a set of 05 F350 trailing arms and building brackets for my Dodge D60.

Thanks... Ryan

Have you looked into using the overdrive lockout switch from a '94-'97 Dodge pickup? That might work out better for you instead of how you have it set up now.

Ryan I will try to get some more detailed pics of the suspension and trailing arms. I would like to build some longer arms as I feel the dodge arms are a little short, however it does ride and drive very well right now. I wish I could get my 96 dodge to drive like this truck does. The ford arms you are talking about are alot longer and look to be heavier made. Only having one arm on each side seems like they wouldnt maintain geometry quite as well if you have alot of suspension travel. Have you considered just building your own arms? Or maybe a good long arm kit for a dodge then you would only be adapting to your frame as they should fit the axel already? I would like to build a set that are longer and have a spherical end on 1 end and some kinda urethane bushing on the other. But first I need to figure out some traction bars for the back to stop the axel wrap I am getting.

Scott i am not familar with how that switch works any details you could tell me would be great. Also do you need the PCM for that year model? Thanx Lowell

Lowel- Yeah, any pics would be great! I will also hopefully get some for you. The reason I am going with the ford trailing arm is because I feel the Dodge links are not very reliable unlike a true 4-link they are trying to be... major issue is the bushings on both ends. The major reason I am going with them is that this is a pull truck and these things are super strong and you are right about the travel but I don't need it for my application. Also, its alot cleaner looking and tucks up against the frame compared to the dodge setup.

I will try to get some pics asap for you!
