2003 Cummins Motors

5.9 Out of Motorhome Question??

My cousin has a 59 ford F500, and I am a big dodge fan, so I convinced him to put in a Cummins. I'm just wondering what we might encounter on our endeavor. I think we have a nice 1st gen lined up, and if we do that, I would like to see it p-pumped. Any advice on this. it should be a cool project, once it gets underway, I'll post some pics.

Sean,

I don't know what it will take to put into the old Ford, but they are nice and open no electronics. I want to be pictures, I wanted to but this old 48 Ford F6 and do the same thing :-laf. I told my wife my idea and it turned out we got in to a little :-{} over it. Definitely post pictures and progress I think it will be a nice conversion.

If you want it p pumped why not start with a second gen? Doesn't seem too cost effective to start with a first gen donor if you want a P pump

I've got my grandfathers '53 F500 that I learned to drive on when I was 12. I want to do the same thing, I love my dodge but I half hope it rusts away so I can use it. The '53 is 6 volt, gonna be custom electrical by Pete again. :D

I would think to do a 2nd gen as well, but my cousin wants a first gen. I finally convinced him since he doesn't want to put to much power out, only about 400, to just use the VE on the first gen. But we'll see what we find to put in it.
