Does any body no where i can get a NV5600 to put in my 95. I am going to do the conversion my self . Just need the trans. I would put a 5sp back in it but i have trash one i dont want to do it again.

6 speeds

Blumenthals or Standard Transmission. Its not a hard conversion just remember that the 4WD shifter mounts to the floor on the trucks that came with the 6 speed unlike our trucks that have it mounted to the transmission. You will have to drill and tap a boss that is cast on the side of the transmission and make a plate to mount the shifter to and extend the transfer case shift rod on your 95. I have always been going to make a spacer to take up the extra space around the shift lever where it goes through the floor boot but just haven't gotten around to it. The 6 speed shift lever is much smaller where it goes through the floor boot. Also be careful as to where you mount the 4WD shift lever as it gets pretty close to the lower dash in 4 hi in my truck. It really should be moved a little farther aft on the bracket. I bought an adapter kit from Blumenthals to relocate the 4WD shift lever but you really could make your own adapter plate if you wanted too.

Blumenthal's gets my vote. I bought a new NV5600 from them with their install kit. Nice to deal with.

David, PM me if you wish, I have an above mentioned bracket for your truck. You would still need to srill and tap the boss and make a 4wd extension.

David,

I just talked to A-Combined in Abbotsford British Columbia. (604-853-2184) Talk to Robin. He has an 03 with about 20,000 miles on it. The whole kit retails for $4,000 CDN. You will need a different flywheel, a 1/2" shim between the starter and the bellhousing adaptor and a 4x4 shifter out of a 98-02. The shifter bolts to the floor and you will have to cut a new hole in the floor and fill the old hole. I used aluminum checker plate with some self tappers and a jigsaw to re-do the floor boards(took about an hour) Tell Robin I sent you and he'll probably do the kit for $3500 CDN (about $2,900 USD) I converted my 96 with no problems.

Quad 4x4

Check out Dan the gear man at Quad 4x4 . Dan did my conversion for me at a pretty reasonable price with a brand new transmission. He sells kit's and/or transmissions and will have anything you'll ever need for your drivetrain. I went to him because he came very highly recommended and when I asked him how many conversions he'd done, he couldn't remember :D .

No question- RUN, don't walk to Dan at Quad 4x4. You will never get a better product or service! Kit includes everything you could ever want, and you don't need any spacers, adapters, etc. Includes a great South Bend clutch too! Why haven't you called him yet?

May wanna hurry if you want to do it. According to Dan at Quad 4x4, the 5600's are going to get hard to find here pretty soon now that NV stopped making them for Chrysler.

Dave,

I was in A-Combined today, and Robin said you called. He was trying to get hold of you, but he thinks he wrote down the wrong number. I have the number here but I don't know if you want me to post it on the TDR. Let me know if he got hold of you, or if you have any other questions.

I did a 6spd conversion on my 96. Got everything I needed form Dan the gear man at Quad 4x4 in Montana... . Great kit, Great service, and great people. .

If you get a 6 speed conversion from Blumenthal's, make sure all the synchros work. I got mine out of the crate, a long time back, and the 2nd gear synchro has never worked. . Now Reverse synchro does not work either. . Great transmission, just would be nice to have smooth shifting all the way through!
