Father-In-Law just called. They are about 400 miles out and he is haveing trouble shifting the 6spd. He said he can't get it out of reverse without shutting the truck off, and is very hard to shift out of second gear going forward. They are pulling a 30' travel trailer, but he said the problem didn't show up untill he unhooked last night. I had him check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder, that was ok. I also told him to slide under and see that the slave was still bolted tight to the bell housing.

Any other quick checks? Has anyone had a similer experience?

Problem solved! They found the Dodge Dealer in Chadron Nebraska, (not sure of the name of the dealership) and they determined that the clutch master cylinder was bad. The truck is 2 1/2 months out of warranty but they were well taken care of. In and out of the shop in about an hour. The Dealer also gave them a big break on the cost, so a big two thumbs up to that dealership!

replacing slave cylinder

Does anyone know what kind of job it is to replace the clutch slave cylinder. I bought a new assy. from the dealer. I've tried the pilot bearing, had the transmission gone through and still the clutch hangs on me.
