Noticed a "spot" in the driveway yesterday so crawled under the truck and saw a drop of transmission fluid on the bottom of the housing. Couldn't tell whether the leak was up high and running down or leaking right at that spot. I'm going to keep my eye on it and try to get it to the dealer sometime next week as long as it doesn't get any worse.

Anybody else have this happen to them?

I THOUGHT MY TRANS WAS LEAKING BUT IT TURNED OUT IT WAS THE (RED) COOLANT... . sorry for caps. . check your tube going into the block heater, they are ALL loose

Now that I think about it, the fluid was less oily than I thought it should be for transmission fuid. Could be the same thing you experienced. Was it a quick fix?

yeah all i did was tighten it. Id do it soon because you may actually be losing alot more when there is fluid going threw it(driving) Id check it now Oo.

There's a large hex plug on the tailhousing, passenger side that may not be tight. It doesn't need huge ft lb, but some are only snug and weep a bit.

Mine was from the transfer case, dealer ordered a new "seal" it came in the form of a huge connecter to the drive line with the seal attached, can't just get a seal it seems! Glad I did not have to pay for it!

Dgibbs, I had a small leak where the case halfs are bolted together. Turns out the bottom bolts were not tight enough, had the dealer redo the bolts with silicon and tighten them up, leak fixed.
