Thanks, TDR Staff

It's not just us

How dirty is your fuel filter when you change it?

I just recieved the July issue of Four Wheeler and on page 18, in the column "Two second news" it states that the new PSD 600 engine will be the only diesel engine to "boast" 4 valves per cylinder:rolleyes: Maybe my truck isn't really a 24 valve!? I'll go pull the valve cover to check, the muffler bearing needs changed too. :--) OH, thats right, the muffler fell off about 20000mi. ago.

Does the Duramax also use four valves per cyl. ? Just goes to prove some people are idiots. Maybe it is Fords first. All three are good engines though, but of course Cummins is the best...

Just had to add the last, did not want to be flamed:-laf

And the '03 Dodge w/ Cummins comes out of the gate with 305 horsepower & 555 lb-ft of torque. The class leader in both. No more listening too "The Durawhatever is the king". Dodge is the king now. :)

and it's doing it with 2 cylinders less than the competition. That right there would sell me on the truck. :) Which is the more effecient engine? It's a no-brainer. :p

Idiots from Four Wheeler magazine can't match up trucks to do a real comparison. How could they ever multiply 4x6 and get 24?

Four Wheeler, 4 Wheel & Off Road, and Off Road magazines are sell outs. I subscribe to all three and all the articles revolve around Super Dutys and Jeeps. I feel Ford has a good truck and alot going for it with straight axle and a pretty good diesel, but where are the Dodges? Not only diesels but gassers too! There cover trucks, upgrade articles, everything. Our trucks are great off road, towing, etc. , and don't get recognition. Skyjacker has an awesome kit for articulation and we all know the bomb-ability of the Cummins, hell if we had a real crew cab I bet all the Ford and GM dealers would starve! (and I wouldnt be shopping for trucks)I love my Ram but the cab is too small! sorry about venting but one more article on lifting or Banks Power Packs on a Ford might make me:{

You may be right about selling out recently, but remember 4 Wheel and Off Road is the only mag to name the Dodge Ram 4x4 of the Year in 94 (Ram 1500 4x4) and 95 (V-10 2500 Club Cab). Plus Daimler has more past winners than either Ford or Chev if you throw in the Dakota/Durango and Jeep lines too.

But I do agree that they are leaning towards the Ford/Chev HD products too much lately. That will probably change when the new 2003 comes out. Not to mention the new Hemi will be getting a ton of press. :D It's all about being the latest and greatest.

I noticed the same thing as I was reading that last night. It was late, so I was second-guessing myself. 24 divided by 6 = 4 right?? :confused: Sometimes I wonder if they know Dodge/Cummins exists. The only reason I buy those mags is for the trail ride articles. Seems like the rest is all ads!

The bad news is that practically all those magazines are owned my Primedia now (Fourwheeler, 4 Wheel and Off Road, JP, etc. ). So much for good old competition, huh? Just like other businesses, the big ones are buying all the smaller ones. My company too.

The good news is that Ken Brubaker now works for Fourwheeler. He's from the Midwest, so maybe now people will notice there is real wheeling going on here. :D Ken has been on hard core trail rides with us a few times taking pics.

Oh, you mean FORD Wheeler magazine? :D Disgusting, ain't it? In between a few useful tire and parts ads, you are treated to the latest trends in SuperDuty customization, as well as how to spend boocoo bucks to overcome the factory defect that Chevy calls "IFS" (independent front suspension)

I usually flip through it for giggles & grins if I happen to see it on the shelf, but they don't get my $$$.

Noticed that slant along time ago. The reason is that more people own Fords and Chevys, so they feature these vehicles, so they can sell more mag's. It is all about the $$$. I quit buying them long ago. Now I only read them for free at the news stand :D . I will buy one if they have a lot of information on my truck. :cool:
