The Greasel

I have been looking at Class C motorhomes lately(even though I can't afford one)and these seem to be the only engine choices. All of the models I am seeing are on an F450 chassis. The diesel is an expensive option but should get much better mileage and last longer. What do ya'll think? Which engine would you all choose and why? Thanks.

The 7. 3L Powerstroke diesels in the Ford E350-450 series cut-away vans used in Class C motorhomes are not the intercooled versions you find in the Super Duty pickups. They are the old syle lower power non intercooled found in the pre-'99 Super Duty trucks. There isn't room for the intercooler under the hood. That may change with the new E550 cut away van chassis avialable form Ford this spring.

The diesel in larger Class C motorhomes on a Ford E series I have driven are quite sluggish. Granted, the diesels will get a bit better fuel mileage than the V-10s.
