I know, I know it's not a powerstroke site but... My buddy has a 97 7. 3 Powerstroke. He has upgraded the injectors, Bullydog tuner box, quick spool turbo. After injector install he began to have symptoms of fuel starvation when he got heavy on the go pedal. To solve this problem he attempted to fix this by installing an in-line pusher pump on the frame rail. The pump is wired to a ignition hot source with a 15 lb. pressure switch. In other words when the key is on the pump runs to 15 lbs. then shuts down. This maintains fuel pressure at a constant at the Ford factory low pressure pump. This system seems to work fine at idle and under load but when the truck comes back to idle, the idle is very erratic and seems to want to quit. He has already changed the "IPR" valve with no change to the symptoms. Filters are new, and there is plenty of fuel in the bowl.
Any ideas?
