New York fuel prices

Airlines now paying about $2.35/gallon

Had a friend bring a 7. 3 to me yesterday. Turning over but not starting and blowing white smoke while trying to start. The engine fired twice after turning it over off and on for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then I noticed the water in fuel light was on. So I then noticed the gas cap was missing on the flatbed. I then pulled his fuel filter. The fuel was yellow like lemon lime gatorade yellow. It smelled like diesel but it was yellow and a bit murky. Is there something growing in the tank?? I have never seen this and would love some opinions on what is going on.

I've seen fuel w/ a yellow"ish" tint before... . but can't remember where... Been rackin' my brain but still can't remember.

Had to kinda learn the 7. 3 and 7. 3 PSD engines as my brother in law and my father in law own them.

Glowplugs and glowplug relays seem to be a common issue w/the PSD. And the fuel heater!.

I disabled both then started the truck on ether!!!...

Ended up replacing the glowplugs and relay. I heard they don't usually last over about a year or so, anybody know if this is true???. .

Same symptoms when our cam pos sensor would go out on the company 7. 3's i drove for over 500,000 miles(don't worry guys there is a reason why i have a Cummins in the garage)----It took 2 Ford 7. 3 to break the 500. 000 miles mark--COMBINED. :-laf:-laf:-laf
