Pretty Kool - Gives latest Fuel $$$$ and is Updated

New Goodies!!!

A friend of mine has a 2001 7. 3 ps, it is starting hard when cold and sometimes does not start unless he plugs it in. I told him it might be the glow plugs and that I would test them but can't find where they are. I use to work on the older non turbo 7. 3's they were right on top. Thanks, Gregg

you got to take off the valve covers to get to them before doing that check out the glow plug relay if that dont do it pull off the valve cover harness and test the plugs that way

DBogo, do the relays go on these engines frequently? also would the glow plug indicator light still cycle on for 30 sec if the relay was gone? When the truck does finally start it smokes and smells bad for about 10 sec, then smooths right out, the truck runs strong when warmed up.

They most certainly go bad quite often, just try and keep up with all the updated part numbers. The easiest way to check relay is turn dome light on, then turn key to start, if the lights dim with either an audible click under the hood or when your voltage meter drops. . I put 7 on my truck before finally switching to the Cummins(other motor reasons as well). I know my truck would not start under 35degrees if the relay wasn't working and it not plugged in. . Good luck, we are here to help irregardless of brand. . Marc

it is the relay thats shot, how much are they and were is the best place to get one. Thanks DBogo for the picture and all you other guys who replied, thanks again.
