They don't fit together!

Replaced my fuel filter tonight and the new 7micron filter has a plastic top that is wider than the filter itself, and just a little bit wider than the 10 micron, which has a rubber top. It won't fit into the recess in the billet cap, no idea how well it fits into the plastic cap.

Anyway I just took some wire clippers and clipped away at the edge a little to make it fit.

Good to know. Thanks for posting!

Any differences with the performance, etc wit hthe new filter?

It works for me???

Just changed out my new 7 micron filters from Geno's with the crome cap and had no problem. Put iit in and snuged in down no problem! FYI, fuel pressure gauge showed a 1 PSI drop with the new filter.

I am going to order a couple of the new 7 micron filters and hope it will work with my Billet cap as I also use the cap to feed my fuel pressure sender.

I wonder if there is a variance in either the plastic top of the filter, or the I. D. of the filter cap.

I can't answer that? I just changed out the filter as I always do, took the old one out shoved the new one in and treaded the cap down... No leaks etc. I never even looked at either the cap or the filter when I put in?

I will look at it again more closely the next time i change filters. It won't be for quite awhile.

Where did you get your filter from?

Geno's (apparently "Geno's" is too short to post so I'm adding this  )

I was wondering about this.

HeberRam, what about under load/wot ect. Is it about 1 psi across the board? As if the stock lift pimp needed any more restrictions :( .

JRG

JRG, I can't say on a stock pump as I'm running a fast 150 GPH. On the fast at idle before the 7 micron, 20 psi. after 7 micron 19 psi. At WOT, it doesn't matter because I'm always 15 +. On a stock pump at idle I averaged 8 psi. I imagine the loss would be about the same ( approx. 1 psi). However, at wot you could be only 3+??? The more upgrades less fuel. Just think if you were at a 5 micron or 2 micron ? That's probley why dodge opted for 7 instead of 5 as Bosch recommended.

I will second the 1psi drop also. I thought my fuel pressure guage was broken because with the fass it always shows 20 psi when the truck is running, it never drops. But now it is showing 19psi, and also never drops from that pressure either.
