Installing in bed rv plug. Was going to just double terminate at the factory plug and run the cable to inbed plug. :)

NOPE :(

DC has a regular harness plug and a sealed rv plug assy. I did not want to cut and splice into the harness but that seems the only option.

The factory harness is not color coded to rv standards. Does any one have the color codes for the rv plug harness??

Thanks

Shooter,

I suggest that you consider doing what I did. I needed an in-bed plug for the fifth-wheel.

I bought a standard RV trailer plug extension. These are available at RV stores. The female end is factory installed, and you install the male plug after you have determined the length you need.

The female end mounts to the corner of my bed just like any other trailer receptacle. The cord is routed inside the fender and behind the rear body work to a male connector that exits near the Dodge-installed receptacle that is mounted at my hitch.

When I want to use the in-bed receptacle, I just plug the male end from the extension cord into the Dodge receptacle at the hitch. Then I can plug the fifth-wheel cord into the bed receptacle.

It's simple, cheap, looks good, and doesn't mess with the factory wiring.
