too busy???

With all the Mopar nuts out there, someone has to know where I can put my hands on an air plentum for a 70 Roadrunner air grabber hood. (This is the air box between the hood and the air cleaner. ) I have the air box now, but its broken with some large pieces missing. There was one on Ebay that just went for $320. That's alittle steep for this cat considering I only paid $75 for the entire hood setup, including the switch. #ad
Any help would be greatly appreciated. #ad

You got an Air grabber hood for $75 !?!?!?!? That must have been 20 years ago! You're gonna pay to get this thing together. The last hood I dealt with was a 'cuda shaker, and that cost my buddy $2500. 00. The hobby is getting out of hand. Start by calling all the magazine used parts vendors like Tony D'agostino (Tony's Parts), and if there is no luck, then you should go to the 'Nats in August.

Sorry, I can't help you. But I had an Air Grabber on my '70 GTX. What a cool hood! #ad
I got a lot of comments on it. Once, at a stoplight in CA, I couldn't convince a guy that it was a factory hood! He was convinced it was some after-market thing. I think he was in a Chevy. #ad

By the way, I think you got a sweet deal on the hood, too.

Yes, I agree the deal on the hood was sweet and it wasn't 20 yrs ago, it was 14. I was driving down the road by Bowling Green, OH. and this old ratty Dodge 150 pulled up along side. I thought he wanted to race. He screamed out the window asking if I wanted an air grabber for the car. $75 hood was complete w/ vaccum can and switch, but the air box is broken.

Hope to get the thing back together this year. It was my first car and I've owned it since 1985; 4th owner. 70 RR coupe, 383, 4spd. pistol grip, 4. 10 8 3/4.

Thanks for the help.

A 70 Road runner air grabber hood complete for $75?????,,Think the guy who sold it did not know what he had at all,,$320 on ebay for one,IF,it is nice is not unreasonable at all,,Problem here is,since you will not be able to hands on see it,it could be in any condition,,Pics on this computer will hide alot,,I've got one ready for Carlisle, complete, media blasted with all the Proper pieces(most NOS),I'd sell, but,You won't get near it for $320,,Just to give you an idea of prices here,We just paid $200 for a air box for a 69 Super BEE 383 Ram Air hood,,BOX ONLY,,Cuda and Challenger shaker prices are going thru the roofs,,So if you can get a clean and decent shape air box for around $200 to $300 you better scarf it up,,The collector car market is booming and the restoration business is VERY busy so these old parts and NOS equipment are going to be higher to buy at all shows this year,,Seen a Challenger shaker go for $4500 complete not more than a few weeks ago,big buck hemi man bought it for his car,,I do not have just the air box, but,I'll see if in my area I can find it for you... ...

Thanks Hammer,

As for the price of the hood... the guy knew what he had, but I didn't realize until I started counting that it was 14 yrs ago:eek: . Time flies when you're having fun.

The guy had a barn full of mopar cars and parts and in his garage was a second owner 69 440 6pack Road runner, mint. That kinda thing makes me warm all over:p .
