Buick Regal 3.8 problems

Last night I heard my brother beating the heck out of something (he lives next door) so I stoped over to save the life of what ever it was he was beating on.

He has replacement rotors for a 78 (I think its a 78) corvette. He had pulled the complete hub off the car, and was trying to beat the hub out of the rotor. After a quick look I notice the hub has 5 revits (between the wheel studs) holding the rotor to the hub. the holes in the new rotors indicate these rivets are about as thick as the wheel studs.

not sure why these rivets are in there, one can see that the wheel studs will keep the rotor from turning, and the wheel will keep the rotor from coming off ;)

Are you supposed to drill the rivets out and pop the new rotors on without the rivets, or does he have the wrong replacement rotors?

Hello,

The rivets are not nessasary. I used to cut the rivets with a air chesel and I wouldn't consider putting them back in. I never knew of anyone replacing the rivets when they had to replace a rotor or axle. Those five wheel studs will hold the rotor against the axle just fine.
