My friend showed me this video at work today. He is a big chevy fan and tried telling me it is a chevy. Looking at it closer it looks like a dodge to me. Anyone else see this.

I don't think the link works real well he said. Go to this website: http://www.youtube.com/index and then type in turbo diesel truck.

Hope it works o. k. for you.

That was Keith with Diesel Dynamics fro ma few years ago. The smoke messed with the lights when he launched so the 10. 4 second time was inaccurate.

best the truck went on a day when other trucks were posting 7 sec , 9 sec, 10 sec and 11 sec runs----there's no way to say that time is legit as the lights were smoked out on many runs and all of sudden with the two of the smokiest of trucks racing the lights just mysteriously worked for you---yes it ran good, but there's no way to verify that time--chris

what does the truck weigh??? 7000lbs and @ 110 mph calcs to 727 --so below I used different weights @ 110 mph and here's what you come up with--all at 12. 39

6400 lbs @ 665 hp = 12. 39 @ 110

6600 lbs @ 687 hp = 12. 39 @ 110

6800 lbs @ 706 hp = 12. 39 @ 110

7000 lbs @ 727 hp = 12. 39 @ 110

7200 lbs @ 747 hp = 12. 39 @ 110

7400 lbs @ 768 hp = 12. 39 @ 110

7600 lbs @ 790 hp = 12. 388 @ 110

so since we know 110 mph then we just put in figures for weight and as you can see you can't get to 11. 96---of course you can shove in 800hp at 7000lbs, but then the trap speed doesn't work---so something has to give--maybe smoke???----chris

I'm borrowing these from one of Bob Wagners posts:

> Rip Rook Mach 7 DynoJet 613HP 11. 89@ 111 MPH 6400lbs

> Nate Wright Mach 6 DynoJet 648HP 12. 03@ 114 MPH 6900lbs

> Merv D Mach 6 DynoJet 642HP 12. 11@ 111 MPH ??

> Trevor W Mach 6 DynoJet 617HP 12. 06@ 111 MPH 6600

> John D Mach 6 DynoJet 603HP 12. 20@ 111 MPH 7000lbs

So Rip Rook went 11. 89 @ 111 but then Nate Wright goes 12. 03 @ 114? See, just because the numbers come out to this or that, that's not an absolute.

In the end, just believe what you want. You're trying to discredit something that happened almost 4 years ago.

The current truck, on the worst tune ever, broke before the end of 1st gear and still went quicker than that. :-laf

Keith--you don't get what I'm saying--most know that the truck is good to go--but on that day you shouldn't use those times with all the problems that were encountered due to the smoke or at least say something about the problems and that the time may or may not be right--that's my gripe--Nowel and I talked about it as did others and this isn't the first time it's been discussed on the TDR--you know that--it's all about honesty and things being equal and that day they weren't on the times---chris

Keith---if 11. 96 doesn't get mentioned then you won't hear another word from me, but if it does I'm coming back---unless there's a footnote about smoke and time slips that day not being reliable---chris

Sorry to create such a discussion. I usually don't look in this part of the website very often. When my buddy showed me the video friday, I just thought I should post it just so I could verify with him that it is a dodge. Cool video anyways. Are there ever any competitions like that up here in the Northwest. I live around Portland, Oregon. It would be a lot of fun to go watch an event like that.

Joe

your close to rips shop. him and some others race at PIR quite a bit i think. you could come to medford and ill race ya :)

jcasper--go here www.nwbomers.com you'll find info on events in Washington, Idaho, Portland, British Columbia and CA---

you can also visit www.diesel-central.com for info

where the video originates from was a great day at the track from May Madness as I thinke there were 4 trucks that were equally matched(Keith's from DD, Christian's from BD, Jim's and Nowel's from Performance Diesel) and they had some great races no doubt and Keith did a great job that day---chris

Like I said I don't come to this spot on the website very often. What is rips shop, where is it at.

I would love to race you, but I don't think I have much of a chance.
