HELP! Dropped something important while doing Governor spring!

Anyone EVER do this swap?? I have all the parts HOWEVER I have run into an unexpected hurdle. the 4x4 auto and manual and the 2x4 manual seem to have a bigger tunnel for the trans... a big squared off hump in the middle of the floor and mine is not as large. has anyone tried to stuff a getrag in the space of a 2x4 auto tunnel?? if so, how did the fit and finish look at the base of the shifter, / floor? I have the shifter boot assy and all.
 
I did a 518 to Getrag swap, and had no problem with floorboard clearance.

Don't know if there is any difference between 89 and 93, though. For the shifter,

I just made a hole with an air-powered cut-off wheel. Don't forget to include a

2-piece driveshaft in your plans.
 
Is the tunnel sizing a diesel only issue? I have been helping a friend with a 86' W150 automatic swap to a 87' W250 manual, I called him after reading this and he swears there is no difference in the tunnels. I'll have to confirm myself of course, just the way I am...
 
I believe the W trucks all have the big tunnel to accomodate the t-case shifter. If his truck were a W, it wouldn't be a problem. The tunnel in Pepe's truck looks like a car tunnel, gently sloping and close to the trans.

They are both W's, I'll have to give a look see compared to my D250 or D350, I never really paid attention before reading this. Good to know. Pepecat, have you called around to any salvage yards?
 
I've done a lot of calling with no luck, and most military surplus places are out as well (from the m880)... I am waiting on a call back from a guy who is parting out a 1977 w150 truck... that should be the bolt on hump plate. The w's all have big humps for the t-case... mysteryman said the 2x4's with the a518 have a large hump as well. looks like I have the only possible setup that has a small hump... hey biglbert ... I may have to use the bhf for a temp install,,, it will all be cut out anyway when I swap in the big hump...
