I just turned 93,500 miles - put new tires on for last winter and ran them 18,500 before taking them off this spring. I think 75,000 is pretty good for original equipment tires! These tires are not down to the "wear bars". I also think it shows that the truck is built square with the world, and stiff enough not to lose alignment. I have only had the truck aligned twice, and one of those times was because of a minor accident. (Minor to the Dodge, totalled the Toyota - her fault. )

What are the rest of you seeing?

Ray

I got about 62000 on my 01. Rotate them every 10000 and ck air pressure once a week. F-60 R-50 unloaded. Not that much towing. Looks like I will another 10000 out of them. Might try the Toyo when I replace them.

Stock Michelins down to the bars at 34,000 mi.

Went with Cavelier for replacements (made by Michelin)

LOT-O in-city stop-and-go.

Evan,

What is it that you've done that got you to 391 hp? That's right where I want to be when I grow up. Tell me what it takes to get there. I want to stop at 400 hp (just want to be able to say I have a 400 hp truck).

Thanks,

Judging from the amount of rubber these Michelins are leaving in my driveway, I'll be lucky to get 30k out of them. My last set of Michelins (also original equipment) didn't even last 30k. I can hardly wait go get the MT/Rs on it.

I only got 21,000 out of my 265/75 Michelin LTX M/S's before the wear bars were touching the ground. I had an alignment problem though that went unresolved since new... .

It's now fixed and I'm looking forward to many trouble free miles out of my brand spankin' new 295/75/16 BFG AT/KO's.

I've got 76,400 on my original Michelin LTX 's. Probably 5-10k left. Best wearing tires I've ever owned on a Dodge Cummins. Although I have a set of BFG 295's waiting in the garage. The LTX's just aren't much good in snow or mud.

I've got 61,000 miles on the tires that are on the back. One of the front ones encountered a road hazard, a while back, so I put the unused spare on the front along with a new one and put the best of the rest on the rear. I hope to get about 10,000 more miles out of the rears.

SO!

What is the explaination?

We have everywhere from 30K to 100K miles from the same tire. They could not really vary that much, so what is it? Is it just driver/road difference?

I am about due at 46K; a very large percentage of the miles on my truck are on highway 101 on the Oregon coast, so it is pretty curvy. Would driving on a curvy two lane as apposed to a more straight freeway driving make much difference??

Any of you guys with the high mileage drive primarily on a curvy road?

Vaughn

I have no special 'trick' to getting mileage out of my tires... I try to rotate them every 25,000, give or take 5,000. I keep 65 psi in the front and back at all times, regardless of load (or lack therof). About 60-70% of my driving is freeway/highway, and the remaining 30-40% is stop & go city driving. If anything, I should be rotating them more often, but oh well. :p I just get in and drive... Maybe that's my trick. Who knows...

On another note, I had an older truck (1997) in the shop today that had 20" rims on it, with 305/50 tires. Man, it looked pretty good. Would have looked better on a 2WD, but even on a 4WD it looked pretty good. This guy must have spent a buttload on wheels & tires... The tires alone were probably $1500 for the set of 4...

Ray, check your PM box. :D

Original Michelins @ 62k

I have approx 62k miles on my original Michelins. They probably would last another 10k miles but will change them before Winter so I can have a little more "bite" in the snow. F60 R50 @ rotate every 10k miles.

RBSOB,

60 in front and 50 rears.

merryman,

Been driving a fairly curvy road since first of february. 92 miles round trip, with a couple of stops in between.

LTX A/S

Just replaced my original rears (245 75R16) today at 35,000 miles. Limited Slip rear axle has something to do with it I think, wore twice as fast as fronts. Didn't rotate the tires, running empty most of the time.

does sam's club sell these (michelin ltx m/s)? i am getting quotes of $225 per tire for these! pumperdude said he found his at costco for $135 ea. i don't have a costco around.

thanks. scott.

My last set went 90,000 on the front and 65,000 0n the back, I dont understand why the difference though. 265 LT
