A buddy of mine has a 94 3500 4x4 with a A/T it is equipped with a Banks P. P. which includes the 14cm. wastegated housing with big head acuator (whatever that is). He has put a new air and fuel filter as well as check all hoses and clamps for tightness. Question is what else should he check ? Could the acuator stick open? Also the Banks kit is less then 2 years old. thanks Jeff

well im assuming you have a boost guage' i had the problem where i had a little kink in the line to the guage and some times the guage sticks and i hafe to tap it so it will work (even with 30psi going to it it wouldn't work) Make shure that none of the intake tube clamps came loose ,splits in the rubber connectioms ect... . :D

You could also have a loose clamp at your intercooler connections.

I personally just experienced this with my truck it made boost but it was also leaking it. Do a search and you should find lots of good info on this subject. Patrick

Boost

How does the truck seem to run, with that low of boost, i would check your afc line going from the intake manifold to your pump to make sure it isn't leaking or cracked,if that isn't damaged or loose you should got alot of black smoke when you punch the throttle and high egts, then i would check your intercooler connections and make sure none of your intercooler boots are ripped. Then i would block off your wastegate line and see if it builds anymore boost. Later!!Oo.

7 psi is right about the point where the AFC gets in the way of serious fueling.

Check the AFC diaphragm and all connnections.

The truck runs ok no increase in smoke no higher egt's just takes a long time to get up to speed (kinda like a ford) with no boost. Maybe recheck the clamps thanks for the ideas so far.

I had the same problem for a while and it ended up being the boost line running to the gauge was smashed off to much with one of the ties I had it tied up with and kinked. Simpel fix though.

The four bolts that hold the intake horn on are known to come loose occasionally and cause a leak.

Before I started running my boost tube though an outer protective sheath of larger tubing a sharp edge under the dash cut a very small hole in the tubing, caused the gauge to read low. I was able to hear it and trace it down though, might not have the same luck if it's leaking under the hood.
