Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) #8 plate in a '97 5spd 215pump?

Will a #8 plate work well in a 215 pump truck?

Any plate will work in any pump..... period. You may have to do the Gov arm adjustment though. You would be much happier with a #10 either slid forward or back, or if all out power go with a #6.

I'm a 24v guy so in big dummy talk, what do I need to look for to adjust the governor arm and how to do it?

The 8 gives too much top end fuel for an unmodified engine (meaning stock turbo) and hurts on mid range vs. what you can have. The 11 is a better choice for a stock or near stock setup; the 10 if you improve the air flow significantly.

I think plates are overrated, just take um out and roll the smoke
