the ultimate truck?

I know i seen a thread on here of one done .

Any body know were the pics are located at ?

I got a deal on a crew cab today(84 dually) that id like to make a long box 4x4 out of

useing my 92

But im not opposed to sell it and buy a power joke cab and chassis either

Any body got any ideas ???????

The original 83 crew conversion thread had pictures, but they are gone now... . not sure why that is? Try PM'ing Earlkann as he may still have all the pics that he posted. If there are any specific pics that you would like to see, let me know and I'll go out and take them.

:)

Its easier then you think to do that swap with some time and a welder and a drill pretty much can be done fairly simple most everything you need is there I would strip the body off or at least front end sheet metal and look at both frames and then go from there

I'm afraid that the picture host that I was using has taken a dump. I still have all my pictures on the computer, just don't have the time to re-host and re-link them all right now.

I'm assuming the "new" crewcab is a longbed dually 2wd that you want to convert to CTD and 4wd? The engine swap is fairly straightforward with just a few detail items that you might not have though of, but those are all pretty much covered somewhere on this board. The 2wd to 4wd swap will probably be harder. As long as you are willing to go with leaf springs and can do some welding it is possible to do this yourself also.

I know the engine in the frame is pretty much

a pull and swap it over , along with the core support , the clutch and brake peddal assy. along with the wireing and guage cluster and steering colom .

The pics im after and info is were the spring hangers mount on , what cross member goes away etc if there is any new spring hangers avalible , LMC

has the GM ones avalible , my idea is to use a dana 44 for mock up

is a gaser 70's spring the same length as a cummins spring ?

Do you need to use the rear springs from the 4x4 ?

I basicly want to have the 1 ton ready to drop and go , possibly with a new fuel from another gen 1 ruck and fuel lines , were all id have to do

is pull the needed parts and axel to get it on the road so im not down a pick up for very long .

Im building my suburban , its a 8month long project almost done ,

how ever i cant have the pu down as long , needs to be a drop and go situation

So i need axel location pics spring location pics , and lengths

any cab mods, should be none id think , ohher than cut shifter holes and clutch hole

any help is appreciated !!!!!!1

Or if you want a long box dually shoot me a price , you might own it ,

i got pics , consider trades as well
