I just returned from a 12,000 mi winter trip to AZ and other places . I live in RI and the 05 ran grate pulling a 13000 lb 5th. The last 100 mi I pulled in for lunch and when I tried to pull out the truck did not want to go. Had to give it 2000 rpms before it started to creep. Once it got going it shifed ok. Same thing pulling into my driveway didnot think it was going to make it up the hill. Unhooked the trailor took it for a ride and it shifted normal. Amisoil in transmission just changed it 12,000 ago. Slite oder to the fluid but bright red. It felt like it was starting off in second gear. 82 k on the truck Any and all thoughts welcome :-{}:-{}

Do you have a temp gauge for the transmission? What was your average temps while towing? Have you checked the fluid level? I know these sound like basic questions, just trying to get all the info is all. I agree with p-Bar, could be a torque converter issue.

transmission fluid is full slight smell no transmission gage I was told I did not need one . Normal pulling flat ground62 mph Felt like it was starting off in 3rd. Going to take it to the transmission shop Tuesday and drop the pan. :confused:

It would never hurt to have a temperature gauge for the transmission, especially if your going to be pulling a trailer. Alot of people who pull trailers alot have gauges specifically for the transmission temp, rear differential temp, turbo boost, fuel pressure, etc. It's just good to know what's going on in there...

Please keep us posted as to what the transmission shop says about your transmission. Inquiring minds would like to know!!
