84 Mercedes 300TD performance help

Any one know if a mercedes 1984 5 cylinder turbo diesel can be turned up much? I already adjusted the afc for more fuel off idle. The pump appears to be a bosch in-line simular to our p-pumps. The pump looks capable of lots more fuel than the current 120hp output! I am having a hard time finding info as most people seem to leave it stock. But thats no fun! I may have to find an old junk pump to take apart and learn with. Any Ideas?

u can turn the fuel up and when u do that you need to adjust the boost. boost is limited to about 13psi by an electronic device... that being said most US versions only make about 6-7 psi

That is one place to start reading. I cant remember off the top of my head, but I will find another forum for you as well. And yes, those pumps can be made to put out alot more fuel. Ill post the other forum when I find it

i went searching a while back and found one guy that had a page on how to bump up fueling and it looked like a serious pain, the part you need to get to is in the back (firewall end) of the pump, i decided it wasn't worth the effort for the car i was screwing with, by the way if you back the alda (afc) all of the way off and plug the rear brake circuit a 85 300d turbo will do a good 3rd gear burn out with both back tires http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/shnizoz/?action=view&current=4-1-06011.flv
