Catoe,

Looks sweet. Did you scrap the old frame completely, or just add to it?

I added to the existing frame. 2x2x1/8 square tubing on top fromthe front to the transmission mount, 1/8 plate on the inside over the same area, 1/4 in plate on the outside where the airbag mounts are. 1/4 plate on the outside of the frame from the rear frame bend just forward of the rear axle all the way to the rear. Hopefully it will hold up.

Looking good Bill!!!

:)

Literally almost an hour. :) Thanks

Great! I am a long time Wagoneer fan. I've been driving mine 10 years, all across the country and on all kinds of trails. I usually outpace CJs and Wranglers on the trail. You can haul 4 guys plus camping gear in a surprisingly compact and capable vehicle.

I just bought a 1st gen Dodge, because the Wagoneer was eating me alive in gas, and it is not a very good tow vehicle. I miss the comfort and manuverability of the Wagoneer. I've been thinking I might have to put a 4bt in it some day.

I'll be interested to se how the 6 squeezes in there. What kind of fender treatment are you doing on the rear now that you have wider axles?

Do you post on IFSJA.org?

Don,

One of IFSJA's members (FSJeeper) posted some pictures of a M715 with a 6BT, a while ago. I can't find the post right now, but I remember him saying that while it was a tight fit, it dropped right in. I don't think the owner had an intercooler or A/C.

Lee Alessi (a member of this board) has a 4BT in his M715 and is very happy with it. I'm in the process of doing the same in my M715 too. IIRC, he reported gas mileage in the 20-30 MPG range depending on cruising speed.

Keep us posted. I've been peppering Lee with questions from the IFSJA side.

I'm getting more serious about a 4bt in my Wagoneer. I have a '92 Dodge 4x4 donor, but I think I want a 4 cylinder and use most of my original jeep drivetrain. I have a big heavy Dodge, I want to keep the Jeep nimble and light (relatively).
