i got an 87 international s1600 dt466 and i cant get it started... i was crankin it over and all of a sudden it stopped cranking... . i have full juice ... . i thought it was the starter but i whacked on that with a hammer for a bit thinking the starter was stuck but to no avail... . any suggestions?

when the key is turned to the run position... using glow plugs if could there is the usual clicking noise... . but when i turn the key to start it is just one big click..... plez help me out fellas if u can... or point me to a website or something like that... i really dont know my way around these engines very well:(

How much juice do you have? You could have a low amperage condition and still have full voltage if the battery is going bad. Or it may be a loose cable at the soloniod or starter motor.

i will check those things and then i may pull the starter... hook it up to the battery and see if she cranks over... . its runnin 2 1000 cc batteries i believe

The truck I use at work is an 84 International w/ DT466. We had the same problem. Ours has a Ford type solenoid on the firewall, and a bigger starter solenoid directly on the starter. Our problem was the solenoid on the starter. If you're careful, you can

by-pass the solenoid with jumper cables to see if the starter works.
