89 250 4x4 value???

Buddy of mine's dad has an 1989 250 4x4 cummins with a rebuilt getrag, good old truck, has fresh coat of white paint (cheap job) make an excellent work truck. He is going to sell it but doesn't really know what to ask for it. I told him about $3000. Is it worth that? More-less?? Thanks

First truck I looked at was an 89 4X4 with lots of miles. Asking price was 5,500. 00 I was seriously interested but knew the extra headach involved with the 4X and increased maint etc. etc.



The reason I didn't buy said truck was the fact that the transfer case let go. He was still diving it at the time he had it up for sale. Typical farm truck. Driven hard and put away dirty.

I sold my 1990 CTD/Getrag last year for $3500. 00, it had over 300,000 miles on it but it still ran great. Myself and the buyer both agreed it was a fair price. I probably could have gotten more if I had more time, but at the time I had no room to keep two trucks and needed to sell it fast. You can see a picture of my '90 in my reader's rigs.

We are in NE Arkansas. He ran it through the car auction Friday nite, I haven't heard if it sold or not.
