Great Conversion Advice!

5.9 ctd in a 70 ford 1 ton

Does anybody know if a 89 Dana 60 will bolt into a 96 F250 w/ the IFS.

I know its a little off topic but I want to get a straight axle under it. Then when the motor goes, guess what's going in?

Thanks--

I may be wrong, but I think the center section is on the pass. side on the 89, drivers side on your ford, no problem if you install a trans. case out of a first gen, other than that just minor stuff, brake line sizes, center to center on springs etc. bob

I should of been more clear.

The dana 60 is out of a '89 F350. I believe the center section is on the driver's side on the '89's. I need to know if w/ accessories I can bolt it in.

I know I need the tie rods and springs and pitman arm, and the front end is complete lockout to lockout.

Thanks for the reply AWM!

Yes it will work. '87 to '97 the trucks are virtually the same. The 250's I have seen, have all the mounting holes in the frame just like the 350's. A lot of 250 owners have done this with great ease. It should be a direct bolt up with 350 parts.

Also you can go here: http://www.fordcummins.com/

Down near the bottom of the page, they have a truck that has been converted to a Dana 60 front end. They list it as an F350 but Ford never made an F350 Supercab 4x4 SRW truck until the '99 Super-Duties came out.

You could probably get some good answers from them on your conversion.
