'89 Front axle

I'm getting ready to tear into the front end on the '89, mainly brake stuff.

My plans are: New: Master Cyl, Calipers, Rotors, Axle Joints, Axle bearings, Pads (duh), All lines. I already installed new shocks.

I will reuse the wheel bearings if they are good.



Anything else I should do while I'm in there? Any hints?

I've been soaking everything in PB for quite a while.

Check the needle bearing inside the spindle and seals. These are out alot of the times. Most parts stores can get a rebuild kit that has the bearing and the seals in one bag.



Also if there is any slack in the kinpins since you will have it all torn down it would be a good time to rebuild them as well.

I was just looking at the kingpin kit from moog.

Sound like lots of fun LOL

I did pick up the bearings you speak of.

I am hoping to do all of this and not have to touch it for a long time.

Pretty straight forward do all the bearing's while your there, and the inner axle seals,,, all three.



I have both style socket's they used for the frt spindle nut's and also a spindle puller that will make the pulling the axles alot better.



If you have any problems getting the parts or get in there and find you need a spindle or anything crazy give me a call on the cell phone I have some spare parts here at the house if not, I have a guy I can get axle parts from Fast.
