89' starting issue

Howdy, I have a 1989 D250 CTD with the 727 auto transmission. There are times when I climb into my truck and have to "jiggle" around the gearshift to get the truck to start. Sometimes when its cool out, I can climb in and turn the key with now worries, it'll start right up, but when its hot out I have to toy with it to get it to start. I've had some luck starting it in neutral also. Nothing seems to be 100% effective though. I'd sure like to know what the deal is. Thanks. Any help would be appreciated.

Your truck has a "neutral safty switch" so that it only will start in neutral or park... . the connection to that switch is most likely loose.

yes check that or your starter solenoid may be in need of some of larry's super contacts and plunger
