Hey folks! My old 90 died on me, and I could use some help, as I'm stumped. I was driving to work, and it died like it ran out of fuel. I've been running veggie oil for about 8 months, so I thought it was filter change time. Changed it, no luck. I noticed the lift pump was wet at the weep hole, so I changed it. No start. I pumped the hand pump with the line loose on the front of the pump, and got fuel, so I broke all the injector lines loose and all i get when i turn it over is a little fuel out of #2 injector line. Maybe I DO know what's wrong, i just don't want it to be the injector pump!!! Any help would be appreciated!

Won't Start

Fuel to the pump but not to the head ? First I would check the fuel solenoid to ge sure it is allowing fuel to enter the pump. You can run a hot lead from the batt down to the terminal and hear a slight click. Or you can remove the solenoid and take out the plunger with the rubber tip on it and reinstall the solenoid, then try hand pumping the fuel to the injectors from the lift pump lever and you should get fuel that way. If you do it this way you will have to use the manual shut off on the side of the injector pump to kill the engine. For a tired pump not to allow any fuel to pass to the injectors would I beleive be very unusual. Let us know how it goes. We have some pump guru's who can chime in on the possibility of complete stoppage due to the injector pump itself.

Still no luck. solenoid clicks when 12v is applied. i figure it must be working anyway, since the #2 injector keeps bleeding fluid. pumped and pumped with no luck, but if I crack the line, it pumps fluid. I went out to my 92 donor and pulled the pump. its 125k and still has the caps on the fuel screw. I'm in the process of removing the pump from the 90 (what a pain!). I have it mostly disconnected and will try to get the motor indexed so I can pull it out and swap it. Any tips? Any differences in a 90 and a 92?

OK, well it didn't get worse:confused:...

I replaced the injector pump, cranked it over and got fluid from all the injectors, which made me feel I had it. Bled the injector lines, hooked them up, and nothing... Checked the marks on the pump and housing, and they are even, but it still doesn't even try to hit a lick. Got out my manual and verified I had all the cylinder lines in order.

Is there a way I could have the pump timing that far off? If so, how can I eliminate pump timing as the problem?

Thanks!!!
