Red_Rattler, sounds like you might have a great deal on your hands, here is what I know.
I have two 1992's, and love them to death.
The club cab was a garage kept baby before I got a hold of it (don't worry I still take care of it. ) It has 154,000mi on it with original everything except brakes, and axle seals. Serious... it was a rare find even the paint is still good. Note: this truck never towed or hauled anything before I got it, the tailgate was stolen just after it was bought new

Paid:13,000
The second truck is more the average, it is a 1-ton dump 4X4 that came with a plow. I. E. abuse was on it's plate from day 1. I have replaced 4X4 steering u-joints, driveshaft slip joint, tie-rod end parts, rear brakes, and other normal wear parts for a truck with a hard 135,000mi on it. This truck needs work, but I can safely say that it is the most reliable vehicle I have owned. Paid: 10,000
Sorry, this is long, I live in a 1st gen household

My dad just bought a 91. 5 w-250 like the one you are talking about with only 50,000mi on it

The thing is like new mechanically, exterior has some scratches but it is straight none the less. Paid: 9,000
I love 1st gen's, and think that they are the last heavy duty truck Dodge made with a real diesel (clarification: straight axles, leaf springs, diesel engine turbocharged-intercooled with relatively few electronics) These trucks are reliable, easy to work on (for the most part), and are as you say appealing to te eye. With 150,000mi, decent maintenance, and low abuse you should see another 150,000mi with just normal repair.
Good Luck, Sorry to those who I just bored
