I need a new or replacement engine fan. Long story short... and to bypass the circumstances under which it happened... I backed over my fan when I had it off the truck. Ruined. One of the blades is folded. Reminds me of the time I forgot the mop bucket was under the truck and I was going down the highway with a 5 gallon wheel bucket under me. It actually held up for about a mile. I have no idea how the tiny wheels did what they did for so long.

Anyhow... I called Flexalite because I cannot find a used one. They sell a belt driven OEM style replacement series for clutch applications. But not for the D250 Diesel because the fan has a weird backspacing and notches to clear the balancer... at least thats what they said.

Further they told me to check with the dealership because there was a forced recall on the fans because they were known to loosen at the rivets and come apart through the hoods. And they said a replacement was "dealer only".

Anyone heard of this recall? Especially on such an old truck? What am I gonna do now? Dodge probably don't even have them any longer.

One of the members removed his fan. The guy that converted his 1989 D250 Auto to a getrag... ... maybe.

Bill Gilbert had some parts 'round the place. I know he had fan "parts"

Jay Leonard is parting out a complete truck. It has the fan... ... . maybe... ... ... ... ... still:confused:

Bob has the Horton (fan) option. There's an idea... ... ... ... ..... :)

Bgilbert already told me a while back he didn't have any. So I'll check out the others.

I called Dodge and they said "no recalls shown" and a new fan was $80. So I guess in the end it don't sound like a total loss. :)

No, PToombs, that was the bearing assembly and bracket. Radiators are much softer than fans. I got a bearing and he eventually got his assembly back. Or at least one in like condition.

And I am SOUTH of StLouis! ;)
