I saw this truck on eBay (4566387623), listed as a '91 Dodge Crew Cab with a 12v Cummins - In reading these forums, I didn't think that Dodge made a Crew in '91. Something I'm missing or is this a conversion?
Not missing anything, its a conversion. DC hasn't made a crew cab since 1985. I called on it, no return call yet. Interesting to know if its a 2-4wd conversion, frame stretch or cut and weld the diesel 4wd front section to the 2wd crew section.
I had seen one at a dealer here for sale a couple years ago. They said it was a REAL crewcab, built for the government and that dodge had built a few of them. I had heard that before too, but didn't know for sure. It it true?? I've heard yes and no. Does anyone know for sure? I didn't look at the frame (idiot) and when we called back on it 2 days later it was sold... imagine that.
thats a conversion from 2 wheel to 4 wheel ctd dodge from what i understand dodge never made a longbed 4x4 crewcab truck in the 80,s it looks to me like its been beat with that fifthwheel hole n bed hope he wasnt asking to much for it
Seller ended the auction, and cancelled all bids??? Maybe he sold it locally or my top bid of $4500 wasn't enough for the owner of the truck... retard should've set a reserve. Ebay
From what I've heard, they made crewcab short bed trucks for the railroad, forestry, and government (mostly railroad). They took a long wheel base frame, dropped a short box on it and that allowed room for the crewcab. No proof, just hear say. But I've seen a few of them. If I remember correctly, they were 4x4 only.
