Tralier brake (proportional type) suggestion?

I have a friend who has a 91 truck, non intercooled, 727 auto transmission, and 307 axle ratio. The truck has a GCWR of 12,000 lbs. He has insalled the larger capacity radiator like the ones used in 92 models. He would like to know if anyone has towed a larger 5th wheeler with a truck similar to his and if so how large. He is thinking of getting a 27 ft. camper but is unsure of the weight.

Thanks

I tow 27 - 29 ft. trailers all the time with my 91 SRW. Trailer and weight are no problem for the truck or the engine. I would be very concerned about the gearing (very high for pulling a load) and the auto trans. they have the reputation of a short life when worked hard. Good Luck R C
