'91 turbo size?

Hey guys,

How can I tell if my turbo is a 21cm or an 18cm?

Also have seen some who differentiate between an early 91 and a late 91. How can I tell which I have?

Just wondering.

Back side of turbo exhaust housing will have casting #'s. If numbers have a 18 then its a 18cm, if a 21 is there its a 21 .



If your truck has a intercooler than its a late 91. If your intake pipe goes from turbo to intake on head ( over engine ) than its a early 91.

The 91. 5 models have an intercooler and overdrive trans in them. If you do not have an OD switch beside the lower right corner of dash by the steering column. Then you have an early 91. Look on the left door post at the data tag there. It should give you date of build.



On the turbo housing size. Take a mirror. On the exhaust housing on the bottom. On the side intake side of the turbo there should be two cast raised numbers. This is the size.

I now know that I have an early '91, as I have no inter-cooler and no overdrive. (Wow, I wish I had overdrive!!!)

I'll look tonight and see which turbo size I have.

Out where you live. The OD and 3:08's work real good. Been threw the area a few times. LOL
