If you want the heater you can try Cummins, or wait for Chryslers production run. Cummins would get my business and be cheaper too, Heater p/n 3907766-S, I would get the prefilter service kit too p/n 3845400-S. The other option is to delete the thing altogether, that's what the PO did on my truck, you'll need the threaded adapter in that case, I don't have that p/n handy.

threaded adaptor delete

I would be interested in trading someone a good fuel heater (or two) for one of those adaptors that eliminates the heater. What's the part number???

17. 00 from the Cummins Dist. Center in Columbus. It's probably 25. 00 from a truck dealer and 30. 00 from a performance shop.

I did not have the block heater plugged in, it doesn't have the fuel heater. Last night it was in the single digits and it's 14 degrees right now and it won't start.

I'll add that it usually starts within a second but I have not started it all week. It has a 1/2 tank with #2 and some Howes in it, probably should go with a blend or #1 with the weather that'll be here tomorrow...

The fuel heater is a 12V DC powered unit - it does not heat the fuel unless the engine is running and/or ignition key is in the run position. I have attached a 110 VAC heat tape commonly used to keep piping from freezing onto my filter and I then plug this in with my block heater - this keeps the fuel in the filter above the cloud point. If the fuel gels in the fuel tank it will not matter how good the fuel filter heater is - the lift pump will not be able to move it out of the tank - fortunately the gel or pour point on properly treated fuel is around -40F. If the fuel heater is replaced with the non heated adapter you will still need some method to heat the fuel at the filter as you go down the road during subzero operations. Finally, without the aid of a block heater on cold start (OF ro colder) up you will also need some method of heating the fuel at the filter if the engine is to start and run.
