Guys, I have never seen this before. There is a spacer?collar on the end of the crankshaft bigger than where the rear main seal goes and I dont know how to get it off? Cant find this on cummins fast serve I dont know what to do. ITs all apart in my driveway. IT is not a dodge. It is a 1991 oshkosh mt18fd tool truck. It may be an 5.9 industrial engine? Help?

Pics? ESN? Any tidbit of info to go on?

Are you going to post a question and then never come back like you did in the other thread? Fellows here would really like to help you, but, if you don’t answer our questions or at least explain what you have by way of an ESN, pics, or other info we can’t help you.

Im sorry big papa, finally got the esn number right on my cummins quickser. The spacer is called allison crankshaft adapter, it is suposed to just come off with a little tap. I am using a dead blow platic hammer, I need to invest in a brass one. The data plate on my cummins is all scratched up and the real esn is 4454922. Its all making sense now! I made a killer plate for my jack, did not attch it to the twivel top piece. Bolted it to the jack, use my hundred dollar dirt bike tie downs came out smooth. Im going to add little heat, little, tap, harmor fright geat puller, hopefully it will come off. I work 60 hours a week big papa.

That's better.

That engine came from Cummins with a flex plate on the crank. Are you saying there's something else on it? Can you post a pic?

Sorry, man. Sometimes my QuickServe doesn’t update to the new ESN I enter. Unknowingly, I was still looking at one of our ‘08 buses when I saw the flex plate.

So, this is what you have, huh? From the looks of these pics I’d say it would be very easy for that thing to rust to the crank if not properly prepared with some anti-seize when installed.

yes sir. I got it off, went to harbor freigt bought an eight inch gear puller. Pretty much came right off. I was prepared with heat and long 1.2 drive gear wrench ratchet with comfort grip handle. My cordless impact driver took it right off. I cleaned it up with, and 3 in oned it and changed rear mail seal. I need the new part number for a front seal allisone at545 all I came up with is 8641826 ?

Just to let you guys know. I lost my best friend, my eleven year old english bulldog. He was my crutch for so long. I had a stroke last year, was suposed to die. Woke up fifteen minutes before they unplugged me. Im pretty much all good. But I have anger issues, bad. Now, I really cant stand rudness or disrespect at all. I sell tools for a living, and we all know how mouthy mechanics can be at times. Ive, been in three or four altercations this year, where I probablly should have gone to jail. Not really. I did not start any of it, but man witness say I did not hesitate at all. Blood veins stood out in my forehead, and I handled business. Not usually like me. So im careful not to be a jerk. If I feel that way, I stay away from the public! Talk soon. Big daddy! I love it!

Glad you got it off. Make sure to put some anti-seize on it.

Sorry to hear about your dog. My wife’s dog is getting to the point she’s going to have to put her down. It’s hard on her trying to decide what to do. You’ve had a rough year. Hang in there. You sound like you’ve got a good handle on it.
