Archived 911, Sending unit out, blue wire/red wire?

I removed the sending unit without noting the position of the blu and red wire, anyone know which one goes on top? These are the 2 wires attached to the rheostat part which has been discussed here at length...

Which sending unit and what year truck are we working on?

I'll go look under my hood and be right back (maybe I can puzzle this out quick)

I did mine but don't remember which wire was red or blue, however the top wire on mine was shorter. I don't think it will mater because it only measures resistance. You can connect it one way and hook the external wire to the unit and try it outside the tank by turning on the ignition but not starting the engine to see if it works.
