Dynoed my 08 today... . edge w/ attitude on level 5 ... . 5" badp tbe. Torque was 913 , but hp was only 356. I think the truck was falling on its face around 2200 rpm ... pretty sure the FASS will fuel it up to higher rpm and in turn will bring HP with it. What do you guys suggest????

Man thats a Lot of torque for a Little HP,so you got the delete done?

I would like to know about that ???

I will be getting the 2010 2500 CTD and the exhaust treatment as they call it is all i'm really worried about! We don't have the test here so i could delete that junk day one and save my turbo!

I was looking in the books i got and one truck turned 320HP/790tq the other was 370HP/720tq

The first truck was a Ferd :~)

the second a Dodge with 5. 9 and he was running the banks six gun... . Not a6. 7 but still Hp to Torque numbers... that 356/913 is something else :~)

let us know about the delete details :~) and whats involved in getting it done.

Hows she feel on the road? What does the seat of the pants Dyno Say :~)

The guys at the dyno couldn't believe it either..... they ran it 4 pulls to confirm... it was between 856 and 913 it does feel like it when your driving because it will slip the transmission pretty easily(not good)... ... i watched /filmed the pulls and you can watch it run out of smoke before it revs all the way out, thats why I was thinking fuel..... but I'm not sure ... . I already have the FASS sitting in my shop. At this point all I have done is 5" turbo back straight pipe & the edge3 juice with attitude on level 5 with the aggressive timing enabled on the edge. These trucks have potential ... I have 3 other 5. 9's that run.

Wow that sound Great :~)

Yes the transmission is the Biggest issue when you add the Extra Torque! But they have kits for that $$$

Some times it's just Knowing when to say when, cause you can get into some real $$$ and not really need all that Power and torque,Most trannys from what i've read are only good for another 100 FT-LB's of torque before you have to add a kit..... even the famous Allison :~)

maybe if you get time you could PM me the details for the delete.....

I Don't know anything about that and would like to Know from a reliable source :~) someone that has a working unit that knows his stuff LOL XOXO J/K

I will be doing the delete as soon as i get the truck to the House or Friends shop...

Of course we would like to Know how your MPG go after you have had two or three tanks ran through her :~)

later silent... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I'm sitting here wondering LOL what Next???

fass fuel installed but still need more fuel :~)

Bigger injectors ?

Modified Fuel pump?

it's said to deliver 33% more fuel and is a Drop in :~)

OK now we are getting more fuel :~) I bet It could use a little More air LOL But the Plus to it all is that most all of these Mods add to Improved fuel mileage and Drivability :~)

I've done a LOT of reading trying to learn about Diesels and Performance Mods One thing that always gets me is how you can Build the heck out of a Diesel and get 22 to 24 MPG on some of them Crazy :~) That 24 MPG was a Red Chevy i can't remember the Guys name but he won the truck challenge thingy, Dodges always make More power and Torque but seem to be on the lower end of the fuel gains :~( I'll take the Torque :~)

Average fuel mileage on a Built Dodge 5. 9 seems to be around 20 MPG

this is just from all the numbers i have seen, Truck challenges ETC... .

Grasmo, did they print off your torque/power curves for you?

You should be able to tell what is happening by studying them. HP and torque can be calculated if you know one and the rpm.

HP = (torque x rpm) / 5252

So, your torque curve must be falling off pretty quickly after your torque peak at around 1600rpm, although you are still making around 575 ft-lbs at 2900 rpm. (from my estimates), which is not bad.

I don't know why your torque is falling off with the higher rpms. It could be the trans slipping, fuel, air in, turbo, exhaust... For example, what are your EGTs at the peak hp?

The 3rd gens start to de-fuel if the intake air temp gets too hot. If you are running a BHAF or other open element, that could be contributing (go to Performance Systems Manufacturing, LLC for examples).

I would think he's gonna have to address the transmission issue first before he's gonna be able to fine tune anything.

Hows he gonna know whats really happening if he can't get all the power to the rear wheels? Due to transmission slip :~(

It will be interesting to follow his build as he address's each Issue! for us newbies :~)

But the smoke clearing up pretty much say's it all.

Just got in from running my nitro rc car... . I don't have the sheets in front of me but it looks like aroynd 2200 rpm . . torque falls flat on its face down to around 500ft lbs. as the rpms continue to climb the torque stays down and finally aroud 3100 rpm it jumps back up..... could be wheel spin ... could be transmission slip..... I don't know. I am gonna guess wheel spin because there is no weight on the truck????? I am gonna do the egr/egr cooler deletes sometime soon, and I will dyno again. The dpf delete was very simple... ... (TIP/TRICK) loosen one side of the cross member..... the exhaust side remove both bolts and the other side only remove one... . the last bolt only loosen it then you can pivot the k member down on the exhaust side and slip the old pipe out while leaving the transmission attached to the k member. Use PB blaser on the rubber hangers. I bought my delete from BADP 5' turbo back straight pipe thanks to Paul Barker and Diesel Lady's advice to just do it.

You should see more tq than a 5. 9 just with displacement and stroke of the crank. It will be interesting to see what other 6. 7 will be able to do. those numbers remind me of some of the olcer 12 valve numbers I have seen.

My RAM 3500 MegaCab cranked out 312/564 on Dunbar's Dyno in September of this year; AFE Stage II and an H&S were the only mods.

Your HP numbers are either understated or your torque numbers were overstated, Grasmo.

I am not agreeing that the dyno is correct. I know the guy that owns and runs the dyno was surprised at the difference in the numbers and pulled probably 8 times just to verify. The truck drives like the torque is off the hook and the hp is lacking. I don't know . I do feel like the truck is running out of fuel around 2200rpm that is where it starts losing power and the dyno sheet shows it. I'll let you guys know .

The 6. 7 rail is unbelievably restrictive, we have them (Modified Rail) but I have not release to the general public yet... Here’s the Problem on the 6. 7 we encountered. On stock Turbo it will soot up within 500 miles of heavy operation (race driving) DPF will cycle regularly. so we know what that means Mileage and change intervals will???
