92 T/D........no charge, cruise, A/C, or O/D and wait to start light

Hi, HH:... ... ... . just put the crank position sensor on this afetrnoon. That made no difference. The PCM is the original so I'm leaning toward a bad computer now. I've checked everything I know to check and can find nothing wrong. But, yes, everything started working today after driving it maybe 8-10 miles. Pretty warm ambient temp out today maybe 92-94*. I drove it long enough to get the temp gauge up to what I would call normal, but that's hard to say with only the factory gauges to go by. .



At least I know it will charge ... ... ... ... ... sometimes!!!

Ooops!! I had my window open a while, I guess!!! I was working at my desk, had TDR open while paying bills, taking a break every now and then, and I didn't see your post, just Cerebrusiam's..... sorry. That pretty much limits that one..... Now, I guess that leaves the PCM... . hmmmm. I hate these ghosts. Better than those in an '05!!!

Well, had quite a time getting this intermittent charging thing straightened out, but in the end it was the CPM. Plugged in a reman unit from Autozone and everything worked just like back in 1992!! Only thing I bought that i would not have had to was the CPS, but even that probably wasn't a bad investment given this truck's age.



Could not have gotten this figured out without the help of this board, so a hugh thanks to all who chimed in to help me thru this. An auto electrician I'm NOT!!!!!!

Id add one other thing that has given me plenty of issues with all makes run a seperate ground wire from the cab to the engine and maybe the frame ive had ground issues before .
