I just picked up a 93 automatic and the transmission is not quite right. It will not shift into overdrive unless athe driver lets off the fuel and allows a shift and then puts his foot back into it. It will then act normally and shift down when it is needed. Also I think I read someplace that there is a company that offers an aftermarket torque converter that makes for firmer shifts and a more positive feel to the transmission. Any advice is welcomed

Search for TPS adjustment. You will find more info than you could possibly want! The Throttle Position Sensors on these trucks are a frequent cause of OD shift problems. If an adjustment isn't the cure and the TPS needs replaced, many have replaced it with a potentiometer or on one of the diesel sites, I saw where you can adapt a Dodge Caravan TPS for much cheaper than the $200+ one listed for the Cummins. I have run a TCI convertor and a DTT convertor. TCI is a great lowbuck convertor, DTT an excellent high dollar choice.
