The manual priming lever on my mechanical fuel pump (located between the fuel filter and the engine on the drivers side) is no longer functional, and I've been told I have to replace the whole pump. I was flaky the last time I used it an now it has no resistance at all in it. Can't replace and prime the fuel filter otherwise. I know I have to rotate the crank to top center to make it easier to get off/on. Does anyone have any other helpful suggestions/procedures to follow? I suppose I'm lucky, 233,000 miles and first fuel pump... and/or part numbers?

AND. . MFA has sagged the drivers side of my bench seat to the point of causing permanent spinal disfigurement! I know this was a fault in the truck for everybody. Any good ideas for fixing the seat-sag?

Be sure that the engine's cam shaft lobe is not in the high position. The pump will not operate in manual mode if it is.

A low profile hydraulic jack and 2x4 will work well for seat sag.

ps gitcha the "sexy" piston lift pump and no-mo primer lever problems ;)
