My son has a 93 Dodge with the Cummins First Gen. Was smoking badly when revved when stopped. No power on road. He replaced the injection pump. Finally got started. At idle, blew dipstick out and oil. He checked and breather tube was pinched between starter and block. Badly need to get it up and running. Is there anyone in Macon, GA area w/expertise on this engine that could help. Not expecting free help. We do not know much on the internal workings of the Cummins. Never had one break before other than the infamous dowell pin on the 96 Dodge. Can reach me on cell at 478-993-6849 Dick Holden

Are your turbo/intake hoses tight and no holes. (Black smoke from exhaust. )

What color smoke?

My breather tube is between starter and block also but seems to be working fine. Make sure yours is working right (gases from engine coming out of it).

If breather tube is plugged/blocked off it could cause the gases to go through dip stick tube. But so can other things.
