93 door buzzer

The door buzzer on my 93 is driving me crazy. Two questions, if it is disconnected will any other gremlins arise, and where to heck is it. I looked last night for a little while, and it is like an ventriloquist. I will try again in the daylight but a little help would be good. Thanks

On 91. 5 it's a yellow box attached near the fuse panel centered under the steering column. You can clip the wire from the key in switch (that's the one that's buzzing when you open door with key iin?) and nothing else is affected. I don't recall the exact wire color, but it's a blue of some tint.

On my 90, I found the wire that buzzed for the key in and door open. I disconnected that and left the buzzer for lights on and door open. On my 93 I just unhooked the buzzer. I had no problems result from either.

I pulled the "buzz box" off my 92 the second week I owned it. I know it's on the passenger side and If I remember right it could be behind the glove box or near there.

Yeah, I got the one on my 91, the little yellow box by the fuses. I am taking the glove box out of the 93 tomorrow to try to find thaat one. Can't wait and thanks for the help. I was going to send my wife in there because I have hands like hams but now hopefully can find it behind the glove box.

If you decide to throw it out, I'll pay ya to ship it to me. In my 92. 5, it is under the dash, kinda between the ashtray, and fuse panel. At least that;s where the plug in is.

Mine WAS where Daniel said his was, behind the ashtray. It's about 2. 5 inches square and 3/4 thick. It's held in by a tab, twist 1/4 turn and pull. I just pulled the one out of my '95, same unit!

Daniel, if you want it let me know. The shipping guy at work gave up asking "what the heck I'm shipping this time!" :-laf

Guys... ... you don't need the buzzers. Just throw them out...

OK, I went to plug the '95 buzzer into the '92, and it was in there! The '92 is 2. 5" by 1. 5" and black. 2 rows of 4 connections, 4 wires in one row 2 in the middle of the other. It's between the ashtray and the steering column, on top of the metal bracket. It has 2 round depressions, buzzers. I must have punched out the one for the headlite / key, 'cause that don't work. The other comes on when I turn on the key. Strange, I don't even notice it anymore!
