I'd start by getting the intercooler and the entire intake system pressure tested. Also, what kind of larger injectors are they? Some aftermarket injectors (besides the obvious PODs) have a spray pattern that isnt ideal for our compression ratio and piston bowl design. That will cause smoke as well, even if they look great on a test stand.
Also, if the pump isnt up to par, you will get smoke, no mater how much air you force through the engine.
What kind of EGT and boost readings are you getting at various throttle settings? That will help as well.
Also, if the truck still has the stock H1C turbo, you are out of your efficiency range in the mid to upper 20s boost- drive pressure exceeds additional airflow, and you creat heat in trying to drive the turbo.
What kind/color is the smoke? Is it a rolling black cloud, or is it more a greyish haze? Injector washer thickness can affect the performance and smoking. I. E. guys ahve cured the POD bluish/grey smoking with thinner washers; I stopped the dark smoke in my mom's 92 with thicker ones.
That might help, or it may cause more questions to arise. In which case, that will make your membership pay for itself.
