My '93 automatic recently started coming out of OD when there is no load on the engine. It will pull down out of OD at any speed if I take my foot off the accelerator. So obviously this is a problem @ anything over 50 MPH. Holding any speed between 35 and 55 is near impossible without the trans constantly hunting. What should I check/look for? Thanks.

The TPS.

It is whack or it is dirty (slowly becomming whack)

You can adjust it by turning that (10mm head cap screw) adjuster under the TPS.

You can take it apart to clean it and reseal it/hope it works when you are 600 miles from Graceland.

You can buy new for nearly 400. 00 from mopar. A bit less from Cummins.

You can replace it with a manual adjusted in the cab unit for, say, 5. 00. (yes I wrote Five dollars)... ... ... ..... that do not wear out and operate in the exact same fasion.

Also check your transmission temperature sensor, making sure it's good and it's plugged in correctly. It's inline in transmission lines running to the cooler, next to the transmission where they go up and forward.
