I need to know if I have the right adapter to perform this swap. IIRC I will need the adapter & starter both from a 2nd Gen in order to bolt the 47RH to my '93. The adapter I have has some info stamped on it (CAV#4) & (3923045) which I think is just a casting number. IIRC the 2nd Gen adapter will be thicker than a 1st Gen in order to compensate for the larger - lock up - torque convertor. If neither of these 2 numbers will answer my question, how thick should the adapter be? Also, will the TPS be the same from 93 to 94? Thanks again.

You will also need the '94 flex plate for the lock-up converter. It should all bolt up with the adaptor, flexplate, and newer starter. If I remember correctly, though, the valve body electrical connections are different. Three pin on the '93 and 7 pin on the '94. I can't tell you what the differences are, but I know they're there. I do know the TPS is not the same, as the '93 has less sweep in it's reading area. The '94 will be side mounted, and have room for a little more travel..... I'd suggest a call to ATS or Suncoast, or maybe even Blumenthal's for a little more detailed answer before you get in too deep. Not saying it can't be done, just be sure you can still get the computer controllers... .

The adapter should be about 1. 25" deeper for the lockup TC. Thats what the set back on mine was installed. Trying to match anything but PN numbers is not gonna gain much. Cummins would be a good source if they will do it for you.

You don't need a different TPS, the one with the truck is matched to the computer and will work fine for all the functions. The only difference is you now have a sense wire for the lockup that has to be wired to a controller or switch.

A second gen flex plate is recommended as they are a little heavier, not needed but a good idea. If you want more beef then a laminated one is a good idea.

You will need a 3 pin connector for the trans. Dodge has a wiring connector book that thye can get one for you or PATC is now selling them online.

O. K. , thanks for all the info. The adapter I picked up off E-Bay a few years ago is only about 1 1/2 to 2" thick, so I'm assuming it's a 1st Gen. If anyone with a 2nd Gen auto could measure their adapter width I would be eternally grateful :)
