Can someone suggest a good way of locating a 94'-96' 46RH auto transmission? A core needing rebuild is better. Thanks in advance:confused:

My 95 has 47rh. Maybe just a typo but?? Sorry, don't know of a core except maybe at a junk yard but I'm sure it will cost more than you want to spend.

46's were used in v8 gassers only.

47's were v10 gassers and diesel.

RH's were 94 and 95 only. production as of 7/95 they switched to RE's

try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market for a used pull. you dont want a blown transmission, they can be burnt up which makes the rebuild harder. lots of miles but not blown up is the better bet.

Thanks for the info tpOd. I will look for a 47RH then. I didnt know for sure about the 46RH. Ive heard it talked about in other posts and thought it was the trans that they used before the 47RH. Thanks for clearing that up.

I have a good trans from a 94 it shift perfect before i pulled it bought the truck for the motor asking 200. 00 im near cincinnati

Im really just looking for a 4speed auto with o. d. and lockup converter that is non-electronic for a conversion Im doing on a Suburban. I bought a donor truck that has a 4spd w/OD non-lockup, I can use this if I cant find what I prefer, but would rather have lock-up.

I voted for the "Old Guy and Hottie also" and wished they'd won! Nice to see her now on Fox. A great name for a channel with Hotties! If the CTD is the engine going in, then the guys are right to say use 47RH or RE. The E of RE stands for Electronic and may be harder to adapt to a conversion than the more mechanical RH. Put pictures of the conversion on TDR Cummins diesel conversion site. Good luck. Herb

HerbW there are already some pics in the conversion section. The post is about the third one in entitled "12v 96 suburban swap"
